There was plenty of top level basketball teams, contributing to plenty of quality games in pool and bracket play in this years Warriors Elite Sports Spring Superfest in Houston. A couple of games in particular carried a hint of AAU Nationals atmosphere with evenly matched teams going into the final seconds to decide things.
While the field was both deep and competitive, a few teams played outstanding basketball in Houston. Some won their divisions championship, and some made quite a case to be considered among the southwest region's elite.
The following teams walked away with the championship titles:

Some thoughts about the Spring Superfest
12U boys - Despite losing in the final to RYTES Warriors - Holt, it was a pretty successful tournament for the Gulf Coast Blue Chips. They did beat Holt's Warriors in pool play, followed by an impressive win over a very good Kansas City Celtics.
In a tournament with plenty of outstanding point guards, dominating front court players were much more at a premium. The 13U Gulf Coast Pistons fought hard to get to the Final Four after losing one of their bigs in pool play.
9U RYTES Warriors - Lawrence always plays solid defense, but it was these Warriors relentless offense that was too much for the Baytown Saints to handle. While coach Lawrence's D have been playing at an extremely high level this season, it would have been a fun match up to see them against the high-octane Gulf Coast Blue Chips Elite. Perhaps we'll get a chance to see them in June.
One 13U team, Houston Defenders Select showed how competitive it can be in the Spring Superfest. The Defenders beat Gulf Coast Pistons, Victory Sports and then took out visiting power, Kansas City Celtics while going undefeated in pool play.
The performance by the guards and the rest of the 14U Next Level Raiders this past weekend should lead to some serious conversation about them being a part of the Top 10 14U youth teams in Texas.
Thanks to all teams and coaches that participated in the Spring Superfest
